The bike is have many types as there are places to ride and terrain to ride on. Bike types have three biggest categories there are road bikes, recreation bikes and mountain bikes. These three categories are divided into many other subcategories. The subcategories of bike types like:
- Road bikes, is typically employed to describe a road racing bicycle or a bike to be ridden on the road. They are have a high speeds, over long distance with few extra features. The industries make the road bike primarily for the road racing bicycle, like the type of bike you will see at the Tour de France or your local road race.
- Mountain bikes, is typically of bicycle designed to be ridden off road. They are have strong frame, flat handlebars, suspension front fork, 9-speed rear cassette, three chain rings in the front, and lower gearing for off road use. Mountain bike usually to use for the downhill sports.
- Commuter bikes, is typical bikes are designed for varied road qualities and maneuverability in town and through traffic. They are have many different styles of bikes, like they have fender ability for inclement weather, lights for safety, good riding position for speed and comfort, cargo space to carry the essentials, and have adequate tires for potential rough road and off road routes.
- Fixed gear bikes or fixie bikes, this is types of bike has become one of the most common misnomers in cycling today. The fixed gear is the synonymous with track bikes and sometimes single speed rides. Fixed gear bike are designed without brakes, a single fixed gear, lower bottom brackets, and extremely tight clearances. Any types of frame it can be a mountain bike, a commuter bike, a road bike, or any sort of vintage bike can be built a fixed gear bike. The only qualification is that the fixed gear bike is having a fixed gear or single speed is just that: a bike with a single speed. Usually this bike is typically are designed to be ridden on the road.
